Abstract
At a meeting of the University Association of Women Teachers, several women gave speeches: Mrs. Henry Sidgwick, Miss Kennedy, Miss Alice Gardner, and Miss Clemes. The latter spoke against the compulsory system of training that was part of both Bills now before Parliament. Miss Clough proposed that the topic must be examined and discussed in more detail "before any Act can be satisfactorily framed."
