Abstract
At a Literary Ladies' Dinner, Mrs. Emily Crawford spoke against too much "masculine influence." Mrs. Mona Caird was supposed to give a speech, but could not because she had a sore throat. Miss Adeline Sargeant pleaded the cause of novel writing and novel reading.
