Abstract

At a meeting of the Women's Progressive Society, Mrs. Massingberd gave an address in which she said that if women had the vote, they could work towards certain goals such as the abolition of cruelty to animals. Mrs. Gordon also spoke against cruelty to animals. Mrs. Holroyd Chaplin said young children should not be allowed to whip their rocking horses so that they learned not to be cruel to animals from a very early age onwards.
