1) Meetings: Laura Ormiston Chant addressed suffrage meetings in Carlisle, Lancaster, and Exeter. Mrs. Leonard Courtney gave an address on women's suffrage in Liskeard. 2) Bristol: At a meeting in Bristol, Miss Priestman read a telegram urging the women of Bristol to unite and work towards their goals together. She also spoke against Mr. Gladstone's letter in which he had urged women to postpone their wish for enfranchisement until other pressing matters such as Irish Home Rule had been resolved.
