At a meeting of the Women's Liberal Federation, Mrs. Charles (Laura Elizabeth) McLaren gave the introductory address. Lady Carlisle urged the Progressives to moderation. The article mentions some other speakers (not by name) and explains their respective successes (speakers were well-received by the audience if they spoke loud enough and to the point) and shortcomings (they were not well received when they did not speak loud enough or their addresses were uninteresting). Lady Carlisle gave a speech on the Suffrage Resolution. At the Wednesday meeting long discussions were held "on the economic position of women, on assaults on women and children, equality in the Divorce laws, women on County Councils, Welsh disestablishment, and Temperance". Lady Henry Somerset gave an address on temperance.
