Abstract

1) Burgess-Hill: Mrs. Sinclair addressed a meeting of the Women's Liberal Association. Afterwards Miss Gertrude Roland spoke about female suffrage. 2) Carnforth: Miss McLaren Ramsay spoke at an Association Meeting. 3) Darwen: Mrs. Stanbury of London filled in for Miss Conybeare and delivered an address. 4) East London: Mrs. Labouchere read a report to a meeting. 5) Edinbrugh: "[A]n address was delivered by Miss H.B. Thomson in the Eastern Branch of the Edinburgh W.L.A., in the Free Gardeners' Hall, on 'Legal Disabilities on Account of Sex.'" 6) Hurst: Miss Aubrey spoke at a meeting. 7) Kettering: Miss Whitehead spoke about "Women's Share in Poor Law Reforms" to attendants of a tea and meeting event. 8) Manchester: Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy delivered the first of a series of lectures on "The Political Position of Women." 9) Merthyr: Leonora Wynford Philipps, Countess Alice Kearney, Mrs. Stanbury, Mrs. D.A. Thomas, and Miss Morant have been the chief speakers during the last season. 10) Penge and Beckenham: Miss Shaw delivered a lecture on 'Vivisection' to the meeting of the Association. 11) Plamouth Miss S. Frances Latimer gave the opening address at a meeting of the Association. 12) Portobello and Duddingston: Mrs. Robertson read the correspondence she had had with Mr. Munro Fergusoin on the subject of "The Women's Suffrage Bill" to a meeting. 13) Royston and District: "Lady Foster gave a most instructive and interesting lecture on 'A Tour in Normandy and the Channel Islands,' with numerous magic-lantern slides. The audience enjoyed it immensly." 14) Stockport: "Mrs. Swann [...] in a long and eloquent speech supported a resolution expressing unabated confidence in the Liberal Government." 15) S. Kensingtion: A drawing room-meeting of the Association, on which occasion Mrs. Annie Hicks gave an "interesting address" about "Women Inspectors of Factories." An open debate involving several women ensued. 16) West Ham: "Mrs. Annie Hicks gave a lecture about women as factory inspectors at a meeting.
