Abstract

In the afternoon of the second day of the Women's National Liberal Association's meeting, Mrs. W. Illingworth presided over a discussion on the Welsh Supremacy Bill. Afterwards, Mrs. J.A. Pease presided over a segment on the Local Veto Bill, stating that "of all the subjects they had down for discussion, that of Temperance was pre-eminently the women's question, while no bill more vitally affected their homes than that dealing with the question of the local control of the liquor traffic. [...] Miss Monk proposed, and Mrs. Massie seconded, a vote of thanks to Mrs. Pease for presiding, the adoption of which concluded the proceedings."
