Abstract

1) The Temperance Associations of Yorkshire held their third annual demonstration and gala in the park of Castle Howard. A number of speeches were made. Speakers included the Countess of Carlisle and Florence Balgarnie. 2) Lady Henry Somerset opened the new drinking fountain in Bruce Park, Tottenham, which was sponsored by the British Women's Temperance Association. Afterwards a public meeting was held in the New Hall, Tottenham, where speeches were given, including one by Lady Henry Somerset.
