At the annual meeting of the Central Conference of Women Workers in Leeds, presided over by Mrs. Boyd Carpenter, several addresses were made by female speakers. These included Mrs. Alfred Osler (on health teaching in towns), Miss Hetty Jones (on the conditions of life in the houses of business), Miss Clifford (on the work of women visitors in workhouses), Mrs. Scharlieb (on the supply of medical aid to the women of India) and Lady Frederick Cavendish (on the housing of the poor).
