At the Conference of Women Workers at Leeds' Albert Hall, Mrs. Boyd Carpenter opened the proceedings with an address, welcoming the guests. Other addresses delivered over the course of the conference included "Health Teaching in Town" by Mrs. Alfred Osler, "Health Teaching in Villages" by Miss Florence Nightingale (read by Mrs. Verney), "The Importance of Definite Teaching on the Subject of Temperance" by Mrs. Hunt, Boston (read by Miss Pearsall Smith), "The Modern Treatment of Chronic Drunkenness" by Dr. Chas. Lloyd Tuckey (read by Mrs. Percy Bunting), and an untitled paper by Lady Henry Somerset on temperance. The meeting was closed with an afternoon of speaches dedicated to female suffrage, where addresses were given by several ladies.
