Abstract

At a great suffrage meeting held at St. James's Hall, London, Millicent Fawcett moved the resolution that "in the opinion of this meeting, the Parliamentary Franchise should be granted to women on the same terms as it is or may be granted to men," before touching upon some aspects of current politics in more detail. Leonora Wynford Philps also spoke at the meeting in support of female suffrage, quoting several prominent female speakers from both camps of the debate. The final address was given by Mrs. Bamford Slack, who summed up the speeches delivered during the assembly, and urged the audience to carry out the message onto the streets.
