1) Miss Smith, who has implemented a scheme for preventing infantile opthalmia, has been "invited to speak on this subject at the International Congress of Hygiene at Budapest." 2) At a "meeting to consider the desirableness of forming a trades union for women engaged in the cycle and kindred trades," Miss Amy Hurlston gives an address, which is briefly summarised. 3) "At a public meeting, organised by the Liverpool Women's Branch of the National Independent Labout Party, [...] Miss Caroline E. D. Martin gave an address on 'The Position of Women.'" The speech is reproduced in paraphrase.
