Abstract

1) At the first annual meeting of the Aberdare branch, Miss Conybeare gave a lecture, illustrated by limelight views, on her work and travels in South Africa. 2) At a meeting at Glarafon, Sketty, by invitation of F.S. Bishop, Esq., the members and friends of the Swansea brach listened to an address by Mrs. F.S. Bishop, the president. 3) At the quarterly meeting of the Monmouth and District Union of the B.W.T.A. Miss Conybeare delivered an able address about her travels in South Africa. 4) At the monthly meeting of the Ilkeston Branch, Miss Kate Jenkins addressed the audience on the new Parish Councils Act. 5) Mrs. Baker addressed an open-air meeting at Wolstanton on the subject of 'The Rights of Children.' 6) Mrs. Henry Avery addressed a meeting at the Temperance Hall at Poole. Recitations were given by Miss Ada Player and Miss Wilkinson. 7) At a meeting of the Long Eaton branch, Miss Kate Jenkins "in a lucid speech, explained the working of the Parish Councils and the Rural District Councils, and urged the necessity for women to take their place upon these councils [...]. " 8) At a breakfast meeting of the Hampshire branches, Miss Agnes Weston gave an address, which is quoted at some length, about the association. 9) Miss Gorham addressed a public meeting at Penrith.
