Abstract
Several women speak at the celebration of Elizabeth Cady Stanton's eightieth birthday at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Topics include women's education, missionary work, "coloured women," women's suffrage, and others. A paper by "Miss Porter, the well-known elocutionist, who has impersonated Mrs. Stanton in some of her telling speeches," is reproduced in abbreviated form. She speaks, as Stanton, on the history of women's conventions.
