1) Mrs. Nicholls "gave an able address" at a franchise meeting held at the Masonic Hall, Launceston, which concluded her tour of Tasmania. 2) In the light of the Federation Bill under discussion, it is mentioned that a large number of women attended speeches by politicians, and, despite being begrudged the right to vote based on their mental inferiority, were bright enough to follow the addresses by these learned men. 3) Mrs. Lowe spoke as part of a deputation from the Victorian Women's Franchise League to the Prime Minister, and was followed by Miss Michie, whose address is also paraphrased.
