Abstract

Short story centring on a struggling governess who is given a ticket to attend a lecture on "Woman, and her Emancipation" by "a well-known lady" at St. James's Hall. The protagonist muses on the inspiring, then sobering effect of the speech as well as the intellect and eloquence of the speaker.
