Abstract

1) Annual Meeting of the National Union: Millicent Fawcett, in moving a resolution, speaks on the purpose of the Union. Miss Marr, seconding the resolution, remarks on social class and suffrage. Leonora Wynford Philipps speaks on John Stuart Mill and principle ("taxation must follow representation"), and Miss Enid Stacey on the gradual progress of the campaign for women's suffrage, and a strand of opposition arguing that other reforms were more pressing. 2) Staffordshire Meetings: Briefly describes two meetings addressed by Mrs. Greenwood on women's suffrage. 3) Ealing: Account of "the first of a series of drawing-room meetings." Mrs. Morgan-Browne speaks on female opposition as "the only real obstacle in the path of woman's suffrgists." Mrs. Leeds contributes remarks on laws discriminating against women, and "Mrs. Montifieore also addressed the meeting." 4) Mrs. Browne-Morgan delivers "an excellent address on 'The Enfranchisement of Women'" at a drawing-room meeting. It is briefly summarised.
