Abstract

Opinion piece dealing with the question whether women can, and should be permitted to become sailors. As an argument in favour of it, Mrs. Fenwick Miller states that times are changing, and that some time ago it was also unthinkable for women to be public speakers, wheres now it was perfectly normal. As an example she cites Lady Dufferin, who explained that some years ago, whenever she opened a bazar or the like, she had never been permitted to make a speech - something she does frequently today.
