1) Association for Promoting Higher Education in Wales: "At a meeting of the Eisteddfod in August, the Association [...] held a meeting," and "Miss Hughes and Miss Davies both read papers." The latter's is briefly summarised. 2) Women in Political Life - Southport: "The last lecture [...] was given in the Victoria Hall, Mrs. Peacock presiding, by Miss Cheetham on the subject of 'Arbitration, the more excellent way of settling International disputes.' The paper was comprehensive and clear." Cambridge: At the Women's Liberal Association's meeting, "addresses were delivered by Mrs. Oscar Browning, M. A., and Mrs. Bateson, vice-president, who recently visited Ireland in connection with the Home Rule deputation, and now gave an interesting account of her visit." 3) London School of Medicine: "The inaugural address of the winter session of the school was delivered on October 1st by Mrs. Mary Dacomb Scharlieb, M. B., Lond., to a large assemblage." Reproduces the address at length. 4) Women's Suffrage: At a meeting at Innellan, Scotland, Florence Balgarnie moves a resolution and "Miss Bain, of Craigowlet, also spoke." Balgarnie also speaks at a meeting at Rothesay on the following day. At yet another meeting in Helensburgh, Dr. Alice Ker gives a speech, the gist of which is reproduced. 5) The Church Congress: Several women give papers on women's social and domestic duties, and childcare. Church Congress at Hamilton: At a ladies' meeting, "addresses on missionary work were given" by three women. 6) Lectures by Women: Lady Henry Somerset is distinguishing herself as a relgious and temperance orator. Miss Agnes Kelman gave a lecture to the Balloon Society [...] on the condition of Working Women. Mrs. Fenwick Miller presided. Miss Beauclerk took part in the discussions of the Shorthand Congress describing her experience in teaching phonography."
