Abstract

1) Women's Suffrage: At a meeting in Edinburgh, "Miss Wigham read the anual report, Mrs. Charles McLaren [...] and Miss Balgarnie were the chief speakers." Balgarnie, Mrs. Stopes and Mrs. Holah also speak at a drawing-room meeting in Upper Norwood. 2) Women's Liberal Associations - Bristol: Emily Sturge reads a paper entitled "Am I my Sister's Keeper?," which is briefly summarised. "A Meeting was held on 15th December [...] to establish a new branch of the association for Bristol East. Addresses were given by Mrs. Ralph, Mrs. J. H. Perry," and two male speakers. "The Women's Liberal Association for Draycott and Breaston held a meeting last month, at which Mrs. Cowan, of Nottingham, was the chief speaker." 3) British Nurses Association: "Two of the head nurses at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, conceived the excellent idea of giving a lecture, with practical demonstrations, to an audience of women at Burntisland. The lecture was intended to instruct people what to do in common occurrences, such as cases of fainting." 4) Miscellaneous - Women in Science: Announces a series of "experimental lectures on the practical uses of electricity" by Mrs. Ayrton to a female audience.
