1) Medical Honours for Women - Extra Mural School of Edinburgh: Report that Dr. Sophia Jex-Blake "has been granted a qualification as an extra-mural lecturer on midwifery. This event marks a new departure, as it is the first instance of the official recognition of a women as a lecturer in a public medical school in this country." 2) Poor Law Guardians - Southport: Records resolutions proposed and seconded by women at a meeting. 3) Political Associations of Women: Speeches given by Mrs. Fawcett and Lady Portsmouth at a meeting are reported to have been reprinted as a pamphlet and in a periodical, respectively. 4) Technical Classes for Dressmaking: Describes upcoming classes on "the theory and practice of dressmaking" by Miss Wright. 5) Lectures by Women: Clementina Black lectures on "female labour," Mrs. Booth preaches. Southport: During a prize distribution ceremony, Mrs. Sherbrooke gives an address on continued education. The speech is reproduced at some length.
