Abstract

"The French Minister of Public Instruction, M. Duruy, has made arrangements for instituting in every principal town in France cheap lectures, to be delivered by competent professors of an evening two or three times a week, on history, geography, astronomy, natural science, and chemistry, to young ladies of the middle classes."
