1) The County Councils: Includes excerpts from an address by Lady Margaret Sandhurst and Jane Cobden on the topic of women's eligibility as candidates for the London County Council, and to secure votes, respectively. Also mentions several meetings at which Eva McLaren and Jane Cobden have spoken, and that "Lady Sandhurst has also been very active addressing meetings in her own division." Sandhurst and Cobden are reported to have addressed another public meeting at St. James's Hall, convened by the Society for Promoting the Return of Women as County Councillors. Cheltenham: Mrs. McIlquham gives an address, of which an excerpt is included. 2) Women's Liberal Associations - Bristol: At a tea meeting, several women speak and/or move resolutions. Their remarks are briefly reproduced. Whitby: "Dr. Kate Mitchell gave an interesting address on 'Women and Public Life.'" Southport: The secretary of the Association reads the report and makes some remarks, which are briefly paraphrased. Miss Wübbe recounts giving an address on "Women's Suffrage" and "Miss Cheetham read a most excellent paper on 'Pantomime Children.'" 3) Primrose League: Lady Hardman's remarks at a meeting are summarised. "Mrs. Pender [...] gave an excellent address at a recent meeting at West Haddon." 4) Women Poor Law Guardians - Croydon: "Miss Anna Ely [...] read last week a paper on the work of women guardians at a meeting of the people." 5) Nursing - Maternity Lectures: "Miss Stacpoole [...] will give a course of three lectures for women only." 6) Deaconesses and Elders: "A meeting was held on behalf of the Rochester Diocesan Deaconesses' Institution [...]. Mrs. Gilmore, head deaconess, explained the system of training and manner of work of the deaconesses." 7) Norwood Ladies' Literary Society: "Mrs. Abney Walker read an interesting paper on the subject, 'Is the employment of young children in pantomines evil?'" Includes a brief summary. 8) Miscellaneous - Royal Society: "One of the papers read on December 13th, 'An Investigation of a Case of Gradual Chemical Change' was by Mr. Pendlebury and Mrs. M. Seward." Peace and Arbitration: "Miss Ellen Robisnon, of Liverpool, has been delivering a series of addresses on Peace, in the Midland Counties." Includes a list of dates and contexts and briefly describes the speaker's style. Women in the Pulpit: Laura Ormiston Chant preaches. At the Somerville Club, Dr. Julia Mitchell lectures on "Characteristics of Russian Literature." Mrs. Ormiston Chant speaks on "Women in America." A "lecture by Miss Lee is announced on 'A Lady of the Seventeenth Century.'" "Miss Greenwood, formerly a student of Girton College, [is] now a botanical lecturer at Newham College."
