1) Lectures for Ladies: Brief report on "the scheme of lectures for women in Edinburgh" and the topics covered. 2) Miscellaneous: Reports on a brief sent to the Bishop of Montpellier by the Pope, against educational classes for ladies. "He says they are preparing 'not good mothers of families, but women puffed up with a vain and empty science.'"
