Abstract

On behalf of the weavers, a deputation, consisting of Miss Clementina Black, Mary Roberts, as well as several men, were sent to the Home Office, where they were received by Mr. Broderick. At the meeting, Mary Roberts explained how Mr. Colbecks new system of working with only half of the number of weavers, and having them rotate between the looms, posed great difficulties to the workers.
