1) "Mrs. Abby Gibbons, President of the Women's Prison Association of New York City, recently appeared before the Senate Committee on behalf of a bill providing a reformatory for girls. She is eighty-eight years of age, but her efforts are said to have got the bill through." 2) "The Countess of Aberdeen opened her music room at 27, Grosvenor Square, last week for a meeting in support of the work of the Shop Hours' Regulation Act Committee." 3) "Her Highness the Begum of Bengal opened a new branch in Ratcliff Highway of the 'Gordon Memorial' Day Nursery on Tuesday." 4) "Mrs. Peel held an 'At Home' at the Speaker's House on Tuesday, on behalf of the Children's Country Holiday Fund." 5) "Lady Randolph Churchill will open the Electrical and Industrial Exhibition, at Bingley Hall, Birmingham, on August 1st."
