Abstract
On the occasion of the opening of the Women's International Congress at Paris, M. Jules Simon read the opening address to the assembled audience of European and American women, expressing his hope for a fruitful development of the women's cause. His speech was then followed by an address of Mme. Bogelot, who had already participated at the Washington Congress in 1888.
