Abstract

Describes Harrison's manner of speaking, with reference to her qualification as lecturer and describes how she was considered ideal for the Yates Professorship of Archaeology at University College, the only 'issue' being her sex. Her own impression is that being a woman was an advantage in her interactions with other experts. Comments on her adeptness and popularity as a lecturer, places and contexts of her lectures, and her use of lantern illustrations, and objects or photographs in lectures and classes respectively.
