Abstract
In the course of a discussion about whether to put forward a motion to introduce maximum workdays of eight hours for all workers in Britain, Miss Whyte (London) opposed the motion, stating as aspects in favour of her argument women's reliance upon the money earned in those extra hours, as well as a desired (economic) independence from parliament.
