Miss Priestman chairs the meeting. Article reproduces the speeches of four female speakers: 1) Miss Priestman argues for women's suffrage as "the birthright of citizenship" and draws an analogy with Irish men's enfranchisement. 2) Miss Swann moves a resolution, invoking "the Liberal principle government of the people, by the people," arguing for suffrage as participation in "social and moral questions," and as a means of self-help. 3) Miss Brine argues that there is no valid argument against female suffrage, and also aligns the questions of votes for women and Irish Home Rule. 4) Miss Muller confirms the urgency of the issue of women's suffrage, but also emphasise the importance of "the principle lying at the base of it [...] to promote a better condition of things" on an all-encompassing basis. Mr. McLaren speaks for his wife, who is indisposed.
