Abstract

1) "Miss Robinson, [...] Vice-President of the Peace and Arbitration Association, lectured at the Town Hall, Southport, last week, on 'War in the Nineteenth Century.'" 2) On addressing the Blackpool Branch of the British Women's Temperance Association, Mrs. Leavitt narrated the story of an American girl who refused to be escorted home by a drunken man, and expressed her wish that more British girls and young women would follow her example.
