1) The Trades Congress: "Miss Whyte rose and made a severe, but by no means too severe, speech," which is reproduced from another publication (in paraphrase). 2) North London Collegiate School for Girls: "Mary Ewart, an old pupil, read a paper at the meeting of the British Association held at Newcastle, on 'Floral contrivances in the genus Thesium.'" 3) Edinburgh School of Medicine for Women: At the opening of the winter session, Dr. Sophia Jex Blake thanks a male doctor for his lecture just delivered. 4) Women's Suffrage - The Bristol Women's Liberal Association: Miss Priestman, presiding, speaks on "the right of the people to self-government." Her speech is paraphrased briefly. 5) Miscellaneous: "The Dublin Women's Liberal Unionist Association held a meeting [at which] Miss Tod moved a resolution urging all Liberal Unionist women to increase activity." Two women support the motion. "The Werton Liberal Club, Bristol, opened their winter session on the 29th October, by a very successful 'ladies' evening,' when Mrs. Ashworth Hallett gave an address on Ireland." "At a meeting of the Old Pupils' Association at the North London Collegiate School for Girls, on October 30th, an address was delivered by Miss E. A. Manning on 'The Social Position of Indian Women.'"
