1) "Miss Lucy Bignold recently held a capital meeting, 500 members being present. Miss Lucy Bignold, the Dame President, and Mrs. Bagnall Oakeley made good speeches. They pointed out especially the advantages of solidifying the Empire and of maintaining our maritime ascendency." 2) "The Council of this Habitation [Frances Habitation, East Dorset] met in response to Miss Le Creu's invitation. Miss Le Creu has lately been presented with an illuminated address in recognition of her valuable services to the League at Kinson, during her year of office as hon. sec. In an effective speech she expressed her thanks and her good wishes for the welfare of the Frances Habitation."
