Abstract

On several instances, Mrs. Ormiston Chant took over for Rev. C. Fleming Williams, giving sermons at his parish church, the Rectory Road Congregational Church, Stoke Newington. Despite fear of an initial reserve of the congregation, her sermons were received well, and her talent praised by those who listened.
