Abstract

1) Women Members of Parochial Boards in Edinburgh: Several women participate in a meeting, and speak to move resolutions or express thanks. 2) Central Association of Irish Schoolmistresses: Miss Josephina Webb "read a most interesting paper on 'Art in Education,' in which she dwelt on the value of art as an educational factor." 3) United Sisters' Friendly Society - Cowen Court: The annual meeting "was presided over by Mrs. Cowen, [...] the annual report and balance sheet were read by Miss Haywood, [...] and addresses were given" by Mrs. Cowen and Miss Guildford. The former's is briefly summarised. 4) Women and the London County Council: Reprints statements by Jane Cobden and Emma Cons, quoted directly in the Times. 5) Women's Political Associations - Liberal Unionist Meeting at Tavistock: Mrs. Fisher and Lady Lymington address a suffrage meeting. "Mrs. Ashworth Hallett was one of the speakers at a mass meeting of Liberal Unionists in the Mechanics' Institute, Nottingham." Women Liberal Unionists in Ireland: "Mrs. A. S. Richardson [...] addressed a highly successful meeting." Her speech on oragnising associations is paraphrased. "On January 23rd," Mrs. Richardson addressed a drawing-room meeting. Bristol Women's Liberal Association: Miss Priestman presides at the annual meeting. Her address is reproduced. A quote from the report, as well as a resolution, are included. 6) Women's Suffrage: "Mrs. Fawcett addressed a drawing-room meeting." 7) Miscellaneous: "Miss A. H. Martin, head mistress of the Cork High School, has commenced a course of lectures in Botany, at the Crawford Municipal Schools, Cork." "Mrs. Fawcett is giving a course of Lectures on 'Remedies for Poverty' at the Ladies' Department at King's College."
