Abstract

"Mrs. Chase of Rhode Island read a paper advocating the presence of women on boards of prison inspectors." The article mentions that the "subject was discussed more fully at a section of the congress assembled at the Law Institute," where a Miss Carpenter speaks. Her contribution is paraphrased at length. Mrs. Howe also speaks, and Mrs. Meredith speaks to visitors at her "industrial Home for ex-convict women." Her words paraphrased as well.
