Abstract

Short commentary on women, who do not conform to the norm. The article plays with the possibility of women preachers, and states: "[...] O, what a field would the pulpit afford for the exercise of that remarkable genius inherent in almost all women, 'To warn, to comfort, and command,' [...]. But, O, my brethern, what sermons the fair divines would preach! How would they lay the lash on those particular frailties which are supposed to be the special gins and snares of the lords of creation [...]."
