Abstract

1) Mr. Leon Say on Miss Ocatvia Hill: Laudation by Léon Say given at the French Academy, in the course of which he mentions Hill addressing sudents at Oxford on social issues. Includes an excerpt from her speech. 2) Irish Association of School Mistresses: At the Association's annual meeting, "Miss A. Oldham, hon. sec., read a paper giving an account of the work done by the association since its formation in 1881." 3) Alexandra College: Louisa Digges La Touche speaks in response to being presented with a portrait of herself. 4) Short Notes from Ireland: "The Cork Reading Circle has arranged a series of popular lectures [...]. The first of the series was a course of four lectures on the 'Flowers of the Field,' by Miss Harriet Martin." Includes commentary on Martin's lectures. A second series of four lectures on "Faust" by Miss M. Allen is also announced. 5) Lecture on Psycho-Physical Culture: "An interesting lecture was given on December 10th at Viscountess Harberton's house [...] by Miss Forsyth, on Miss Thomas's system of 'Psycho-physical Culture." Summarises the lecture. 6) The Rational Dress Society: Mentions a discussion taking place during the Society's annual meeting, in which several women take part. 7) Miscellaneous: Includes an excerpt reprinted from the Guardian on Mrs. Flinn and her lecturing activity at Oxford University.
