1) A correspondent reports that Laura Ormiston Chant, on her visit to Edinburgh, "has lectured [...] on almost every topic of importance to women." 2) Meeting at Mrs. Lang Todd's: "Some good men, and some good women, too, spoke of their appreciation of the Franchise." 3) Temperance Meeting: "Mrs. Chant's address bore on the legal prohibition question." Comments briefly on the content of her speech. 4) Temperance: "Mrs. Chant spoke on the subject of temperance in a highly convincing way." 5) Women's Suffrage Meetings: Summarises a lecture in favour of female suffrage by a female spaker, presumably Mrs. Craig. Also mentions an evening gathering which Laura Ormiston Chant addresses. 6) Women's Suffrage: Chant addresses a meeting on the topic. 7) Women's Suffrage Meeting: Eva McLaren and Chant both address the audience at the annual meeting of the Edinburgh National Society for Women's Suffrage. 8) Workhouses and Prisons: Chant addresses a meeting on American workhouse and prison management, and her speech on the "Reform of Prison life" is reproduced. "Miss Flora Stevenson also spoke," and her address in support of a motion proposed by her is briefly summarised.
