Abstract
Austrian Empire - Hungary: "A Women's Education Union has been commenced in Pesth, of which the President is Madame Veres. This lady not long since delivered a lecture on Hungarian industrial occupations. She begged ladies to buy only home-made fabrics, and to keep their dress and domestic management simple and inexpensive. We believe that the Hungarian ladies carry a love of fashion and artistic vanity in their dress to a somewhat extravagant degree."
