Abstract

Brief biographical report on prominent figures of the women's movement in Germany, including Auguste Schmidt, who "possesses an unusual power of oratory [and] made, as usual, the opening speech of the evening" at the 1883 Women's Conference in Düsseldorf. Henriette Goldschmidt is referred to as "a most gifted speaker," frequently invited to speak publicly. Marianne Menzzer is mentioned as another public speaker.
