Abstract
1) Lady Carlisle on the Position and Duty of Women: At the first meeting of the newly founded Longtown Women's Liberal Association, Lady Carlisle gave a speech on women's suffrage and the position of women in society. 2) Women's Rights in France: At the annual dinner of the Society for Bettering the Condition of Women, Mademoiselle Deraisme gave a speech on women's rights and the Women's Rights Movement.
