Abstract

1) British Association: "In the Geographical Section a large audience was attracted by Mrs. Sheldon's paper on her recent expedition to Kilima Njaro and Lake Chala." Summarises the contents of the paper. Mrs. Bishop gives an account of her travels in Bakhtiari, which is reproduced extensively. 2) International Congress on Hygiene and Demography: Lists contributions by name and title in the respective thematic sections of the Congress. Speakers include Annie Besant and Miss Davenport Hill. 3) The Trade Union Congress: The contributions of two women are paraphrased. 4) Miscellaneous: "The Technical Education Committee of the Gloucestershire County Council are also paying attention to dairy work, and the opening lecture on butter making, given by Miss Waddy at Dursley, was very largely attended." "A Bronze medal has been awarded by the Russian Government to Mrs. Beddoe, in recognition of the value of the paper contributed by her to the International Penitentiary Congress at St. Petersburg, in June of Last year, on the Canadian Home for Littel Girls in Clifton."
