At a meeting of the South London branch of the League, Dr Alice Vickery introduced the speakers and also spoke about the unfairness of withholding Parliamentary franchise from women. Mrs Stopes spoke about the history of the female enfranchisment question. Mrs Alice Cliff Scatcherd talked about the difference in position between contemporary women and women of the last century. Mrs Sales spoke about the status of female enfranchisment in France. Mrs Behrens "demanded for women the right to develop herself in accordance with her own individuality".
