Abstract

1) Barnsley Women's Liberal Association: Mrs. Morgan Brown gave an address. Laura Ormiston Chant gave an address in favour of women's suffrage. She said that the vote was not a privilege, but a protection, and she listed reasons why women should have parliamentary franchise. 2) Leek: At a meeting of the Women's Liberal Association, Laura Ormiston Chant gave an address on women's suffrage. 3) Ealing Women's Liberal Associations: At a meeting of the Ealing Women's Liberal Association, Miss Hagemann gave an address on women and the labour question. She said that women made up a considerable part of the country's workforce, so they deserved to be heard just as much as men did. 4) Saltash: In a speech she gave at a meeting in Saltash, Miss Garland refuted the argument that women should not vote because they did not fight by pointing out that many men could not be soldiers either due to physical limitations. Therefore, the argument was invalid.
