Abstract
At a public meeting in Waimate, New Zealand, the president of the Women's Franchise League, Mrs. Hatton, delivered the opening remarks. She spoke about the need for female enfranchisement, which she tought was a necessary step towards social equality for women and girls. Mrs. Hatton urged the women present to "throw their energies into the work." Resolutions were proposed by Mrs Smalley and Miss Nicol.
