1) At a meeting of the Central National Society for Women's Suffrage, "Mrs. Eva McLaren, and the ladies who seconded and supported the resulution, gave the why and the wherefore of their adherence to Women's Suffrage in able and enthusiastic speeches." 2) Leonora Wynford Philipps spoke in favour of fairer divorce laws for women. 3) Countess Alice Kearney spoke in favour of the parliamentary franchise for women, calling it "not a question of feeling or sentiment, but [...] a matter of right and duty."
