Abstract

At the tenth conference of the Women's Cooperative Guild at Leicester, "Miss Tournier [...] took the chair at the opening meeting, and gave a stirring and practical address, the tenor of which was to urge a more persistent advocacy of the principles involved in the co-operative movement." Miss Frances Hicks and Miss Edith Bradley then gave the report of the past year. On the following day Mrs. Woodward read a paper on "Women as Shareholders and Office-Holders in the Co-operative Movement." The next day included a paper by Miss Webb ob "Co-operation as Applied to Domestic Work," which was followed by a lively discussion and the passing of a resolution. Miss Collet, who also visited the convention, "gave an explanation of the schedules recently send out to the members of the Guild by the Labour Department." There were also several public meetings in the evenings, where Miss Llewelyn Davies and Mrs. Dickenson gave addresses.
