Abstract

A "well attended and most enthusiastic meeting of women , presided over by Mrs. Sidney Webb, was held [...] in St. James's Hall, in support of the starving women and children in the mining districts." Mrs. Webb gave the opening address, showing the general context of the present deplorable living situation of the workers in the mining districts. Other addresses which followed were given by Eliza Orme, Mrs. Dickinson, Mrs. Jones, and Mrs. Mallet.
