Abstract

"The Right Hon. James Stansfeld, M.P., Mrs. Josephine E. Butler, and others who have been fore some years working in order to obtain as complete a repeal of State-licensed and regulated vice in India as in England, convened a public Conference at the Westminster Town Hall [...] to further this object." At this conference, Mrs. Butler also gave an address in support of a resolution to further the cause in Parliament.
